Oral drug avatrombopag reduces chemotherapy treatment delays, trial finds

In a phase 2 trial of patients with gastrointestinal cancers, avatrombopag helped 70% of those receiving chemotherapy to stay on treatment schedule, compared with 17% receiving placebo.
