Our Mission
our story
In 2015, a small but passionate group of individuals came together in Mississippi with a shared vision: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by diabetes. It was from this collective determination that the Diabetes Prevention Awareness Center (DPAC) was born. From the very beginning, DPAC set out to be more than just an organization; it aimed to be a beacon of hope and support for the local community.
Over the years, DPAC has grown into a trusted resource for diabetes awareness, prevention, and education. What started as a humble initiative has flourished into a dedicated nonprofit, unwavering in its commitment to empowering individuals with knowledge, fostering a sense of community, and championing the cause of diabetes prevention. DPAC’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and the belief that, with the right information and support, we can all take control of our health and create a brighter, healthier future for ourselves and our loved ones.
our Focus
Why Mississippi?
Why Mississippi? This is a question that lies at the heart of DPAC’s mission and purpose. Mississippi faces unique health challenges, with one of the highest rates of diabetes in the nation. Our focus is deeply rooted in the understanding that Mississippians deserve a brighter and healthier future.
In this state, we see the opportunity to make a significant impact by providing crucial diabetes awareness, prevention, and education services. DPAC believes that no one should be held back by preventable health conditions, and we are committed to bridging the gap in diabetes care. By concentrating our efforts on Mississippi, we can address the specific needs of our local communities, raise awareness about the importance of diabetes prevention, and empower individuals to take control of their health. Our goal is to transform Mississippi into a beacon of diabetes awareness and prevention, demonstrating that positive change is not only possible but achievable when a community comes together with knowledge, support, and determination.
