Ingredients
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat, as per your preference)
- 1 cup of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or any berries you like)
- 2 tablespoons of honey (optional, for added sweetness)
- 1/4 cup of your choice of nuts or seeds (such as chopped almonds, walnuts, pecans, or sunflower seeds)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Berries:
- Wash the mixed berries thoroughly under cold running water.
- If you’re using strawberries, remove the green tops and slice them into smaller pieces.
- Set aside a few berries for garnish.
- Sweeten the Yogurt (Optional):
- In a bowl, add the Greek yogurt.
- If you prefer your yogurt a bit sweeter, drizzle in honey to taste.
- You can adjust the amount of honey to suit your sweetness preference.
- Add vanilla extract if you want to enhance the flavor.
- Layer the Parfait:
- Take a serving glass or a bowl and begin by adding a spoonful of the sweetened Greek yogurt at the bottom.
- Add Berries:
- Layer a portion of the mixed berries on top of the yogurt.
- Repeat Layers:
- Continue layering with more yogurt and berries until you fill the glass or bowl.
- You can make as many layers as you like, but it’s common to have 2-3 layers.
- Top with Nuts or Seeds:
- Sprinkle your choice of nuts or seeds on top of the parfait.
- These add a lovely crunch and additional nutrition to the dish.
- Garnish:
- If desired, garnish the parfait with a few reserved berries and a sprig of fresh mint for a burst of color and freshness.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Your Greek Yogurt Parfait is now ready to be enjoyed.
- Use a long spoon to dig in and ensure you get a bit of yogurt, berries, and nuts/seeds in each bite.
